Interesting Youtube video on Dublin Museum

There is a two part video on the Dublin Museum that is quite fascinating. Much of the old museum video is as it was first set up in 1857, a mere scant 6 years after the Crystal Palace exhibit in London. These kinds of museum set-up don't currently exist in the United States, except for a few exceptions. I posted this link because it is more valuable as a Taxidermy History post than otherwise. The video is in two parts. One shows some restoration by a Holland Taxidermy firm. A truely fascinating video.

Wow, really cool! Thanks for sharing.

Soaking a tiger mount and scrubbing it with soap, then rolling it around in sawdust?? I'd faint from the pressure. Wow. Imagine being the guy who breaks the tail off King George's tiger... very impressed, that's the first panda mount I'd ever seen.

Fascinating!  Stuff like this is the main reason I love taxidermy so much.  The preservation of so many species for years to come is wonderful and the history on Victorian era tigers, WOW!
