I use McKenzie Rock Mix and make my own, saves allot of money and you can make the rock fit into your habitat perfectly the way it needs to be

Ozark woods rocks look like the ones I make. Pour por a kast or whatever in a latex mold of a rock. Rotate & roll the mold around letting the resin coat the entire mold. Keep moving til the resin kicks. Add another layer if you dont have good coverage. You now have a shell of the rock. Fill the mold with 2 part foam & you have a rock. Paint with thin washes til satisfied with the color.

What are you using to paint them. Oil paints, water, laquer or skin dyes? Do you need to prep the surface?

very thinw ashes of water based paint. Paint on blot with paper towel. Try a variety of colors for some nice effects. I dont use mold release so no prep is needed.
