If you are talking picked stalks, I dig mine in the late fall, before freeze up. knock off the soil( save and dry for later use ) and let dry through the winter. If you are talking green stalks, never tried . paul

I picked it up this past fall and it has been sitting all winter, I was just wondering if there was something that needs to be applied to it before I use it, Some kind of preserve?. Thanks for the feed back Paul.

Satin acrylic sealer from Hobby Lobby is what I used with great results. I satin makes it not so shiny.
