i am working on a fenxe post mount with two wooducks and i was wondering how i can make the dirt on the bottom base? i was thinking i'd mix elmers glue with dried dirt, but i dont know. I dont have access to any expensive products to help me out.. so do you know any tricks to help me out??

you can also use 50/50 water and elmers glue mix...it acts as a sealent and gives it that wet look.

I like miracle grow pete moss mixed with elmers glue and water. It is guaranteed to be bug free and looks good. after you mix it all up and spread it out, let it dry then spay glue and water mixed 50/50 through an atomizer( spray bottle) to seal it.

I just tried Geco Earth which is coconut shells ground up. Any pet shop has it and a small bag goes a long way. I just pressed it into the base when I foamed it and then used a 50/50 mix of elmers and water to coat and seal. Came out really nice without a lot of mess. I have also used coffee grounds and also the 50/50 elmers mix.
