Get a old butter knife, and from the handle measure 1 1/2 inches, mark this with a sharpie. Then cut on the line you marked and grab a file or if you have a grinder smooth out the edges, on the corners I like them rounded I find you can work with the tool easier. Once its smoothed  out, your done. It works great, hide pastes wipes right off the blade, and nice handle to be working with.

For small mammals, I look around at flea markets and I believe the butter knifes were used for picnics cause they are smaller in both length and width, can pick these up for about a dime a piece, and do the same thing as above. You'll love them as we do.

I guess I thin my lips finer than you guys.  A butter knife is an invitation to slicing through a lip instead of tucking it.  If you make the slot bigger, the lip skin pulls out.

I think this is the type. My grandma had em. No edge. Should work well.

What you and me refer to a butter knife these days is what granny called a Table knife.
