Hey fish guys and those of you who make fish repos. I tried  new products from Industrial Polymers that Terry Weick and Paul Borkowski told me about at the Michigan show.
So I decided to enter a few fish at the World show in the professional division, like I would do for my customers. I did quite well, 1st with a catfish(12 hours), 2nd with a Kokanee(10hours) and 2nd with a shark that I did in 6 1/2 hours on tuesday morning the day that I left for the show. I didn't gloss it until the next day but i guess the resin hadn'tcured and it bubbled. I had to spot paint to repair the bubbling, thanks Paul B. for the use of your air brush. After all that I still managed to pull a 2nd. Also entered the Colletive Artist Mixed Group, with my son, with 2 bullheads. Had about 2 weeks in them on and off.
These products, 3030 and 3025 are very fast and strong. Great stuff. Give Scott a call at Industril Polymers (800-340-4563) for a sample. Use in your bondo mold or whatever your positive is made out of. I actually casted a fresh fish and made a mold and  a blank out of 3030 and 3025.
I will be doing some seminars in the future with these products. Give Scott a call now!!!

Randy, I saw your shark and I thought that thing was awesome.  I saw your other critters with fins but I'm fond of those predators with teeth.   Grin  I thought that shark was cool.

Congrats Randy and nice work man. I can't wait for you to do a molding/casting seminar. I hope we can line something up for the MI show next March. I also have been playing with these Polymer products and love them.

Randy, That's at Inovative Polymers, not Industrial polymers. They are two different companies.

Thanks so much Randy D!  It has been a pleasure working with you, one of the expert-grandfathers of taxidermy castings!  I look forward to watching you win the North American Championship!

Randy and I were both scrambling just before the entry deadline, lol, nothing like procrastinating.

We are working on a seminar with Randy for the show in March.  It is great to have him back around the MTA.  I spent a morning at his place a year ago just talking and I know it would would be a benefit to our association to have him do a seminar.  Possibly a hands on or an all day'r.

I just talked to Randy this morning and sounds like he is very excited about doing a molding/casting seminar.
I just hope it's not the day of judging.
