fantastic job...restoration is an important part of all of the museums collections since the funds to create large groups are not available any more.....try to work out a  future plan for yearly inspections and touch ups for them that will keep the overall one time cost down for them and give you the gift of working on them for years......

I assume you're refering to shed hunting at The Yox Ranch. But since the proprieter of said ranch confiscated the sheds I found, and didn't inform me of the Carl Akeley monument right down the street, that particular stop on our itinerary is number 3 or 4 on the list......  Grin Wink Kiss

It is sobering to see and read about this and through the history of taxidermy that I myself have researched it is truly amazing what these past artist our forefathers did and had to go through sculpting form worthy of bronzes and the study of reference to make the animals more lifelike not full of life.  In this world of "snap together taxidermy" we should all think about what taxidermist had to go through 50 or 100 years ago when they tear apart an old deer head for a remount.

I have had the pleasure of mounting several lifesize mammals for a museum and even though these are high quality lifelike mounts they ARE NOT competition mounts, I am sure the correct message will still be conveyed.
