I'm new to taxidermy however I know that in the near future I will be asked for pedestal mounts and bases so I've thought of buying a new tool I saw on tv the other day.  It's called the Kreg jig (kregtool.com).  Not sure I'f I'm behind the times or maybe it's a newer tool.  Watched an hour tv spot and could only imagine what all taxidermy related things you could build with it.  It's only 100 bucks and looks like you could build just about anything with also being able to hide screw heads.  I was just curious if anyone on this site has used it or had any pics of something they've built with one.  Thanks Terry

They work sweet for putting bases together. You can see what they do if your kitchen or bathroom cabinets are real wood, they are probably assembled using a Kreg jig

It's a great tool.  Lowes here carries them. Those Vice-Grips are great for a whole lot of other things as well.  Another great tool Lowes also carries is the JawHorse.  Especially in a one-man shop.

Yeah I know it looks awesome.  I also found them at lowes online, which lowes oddly sells them cheaper than off of the kreg website.  I'm looking into building some of my own bases for some deer mounts of my own and was wanting to check other people's opinions of it.  You just can't beat building stuff and NOT seeing the screw heads.
