Wink Wink Wink Wink Wink Wink
Does it get any better than this ?
What a set of reference photos
Funny, as I look through these photos, and I think back on critiques of deer.

Alot of these deer wouldn't fare too well in a competition/ show
Just saying.
I see positions of eyes, ears, facial expressions, etc that just wouldn't fly in a show.
Maybe I am wrong, just seems that way
What a set of reference photos. Showing the full gammit of deer in there natural habitat, doing whar deer do.

Awesome pix. A few inspired me with ideas for creating custom mounts.

Also, I agree that a lot of reference throws out the "rules" that we're expected to adhere to.

I honestly think we make deer mounts "look prettier" or use only certain reference to make it more uniform from mount to mount. It's like we use deer "super models" and ignore the less appealing specimens.

Sometimes deer are downright goofy and ugly looking and if your mount looked exactly like the real thing, you'd be laughed at.

I'd rather try and fail, then fail to try.
