Last I heard........NO!

I should specify, that's fresh "in the round", not mounts. Mounted fish are OK.

We CAN sell mounted fish in Minnesota. The only mounts we can't sell are waterfowl and protected migratory birds. arrowed1 how long have you been in the business? Do you belong to the MTG? The DNR has a hang up about selling anything that involves the "meat", but the finished product has never been a problem. If you can hunt it, trap it or otherwise legally posses it, you can legally sell the mount.

you better still check with the dnr..there was a law called the black bass act  when hats with sunfish for sale were popular....I have legally purchased wild caught walleyes also in Mn.....and many other wild species are legal to sell smelt,suckers,whitefish,tulibee,carp.....you need to be specific on what kind of fish you want to sell....

Kevin, if you had been a member you would have had a number of opportunities in the past to hear from the DNR concerning regulations and to take part in discussions on this subject at various MTG meetings. You don't seem to be aware of what we can or can't sell, that's why I asked the questions. I asked how long you'd been "in the business", thinking you might be relatively new if you weren't aware of what mounts you could or couldn't sell.

As to the Black Bass Act....This is what Cecil Baird posted some time ago. If you want to KNOW about buying and selling fish(not mounts) in different states, he's the man to contact......

"I can't speak for every state but I can tell you what I found out about the "Black Bass Act."

I was an act that became law in 1926 making it illegal to transport in interstate commerce black bass taken, purchased, or sold in violation of state law.

It along with the Lacey Act of 1900 was repealed and replaced by the Lacey Act Ammendments of 1981. The original Lacey Act was the first federal law protecting game, and prohibited interstate shipment of illegally taken wildlife, as well as importation of injurious species.

When the Black Bass and Lacey Act became the Lacey Act Ammendments it became more comprehensive and restored proctection of migratory birds, removed from the act in 1969, and started the protection of plants. The Lacey Act Ammendments increased penalities and included a felony punishment scheme to target commercial violators and international traffickers by fines of up to $20,000 or five years imprisonment, or both.'
