i am trying to make antler repoes useing the reverse method like tony breed love of smooth-on.my mother mold is fiberglass an matt.what i would like to know is if dragon skin would pour through as good as mold max30.i know the release aids that work dragon skin i have used it before.i know doug has a idea his a smooth-on man.any help from any one would be grately appresated.thank you mike hoop

Mike, just make sure you get the DragonSkin 10 Slow. That will give you a 45 minute pot life and 7 hour cure time. The long pot life will give you time to get the pour done.

You could even try Mold Star 15 (

) at 12000 cps it is a low viscosity and offers excellent tear strength without needing to be degassed

thank you doug an beaker for you fast reply i will check out mold star 15.dragon skin is exspinseve but i like the detail it picks up and the streach is awsome. any one else have any thing they wont to share.again thanks alot mike hoop

I don't know why people think that silicone rubber won't pick up detail? It picks up detail, whether it's dragon skin, mold star, mold max, smooth sil, etc.
Another tid bit on the word expensive. People say that silicone is SOOOOOOO expensive. If you compare silicone to alginate here is what you get. Mold max to Dragon Skin range from $8 to $11 and some change per pound. If you go buy alginate, you are in the $10 to $13 per pound range. So, I ask, is silicone really sooooooo expensive?
Not picking on you Mikehoop. Just making an observation on some of the things that make me go huuuumm.
By the way, MoldStar 15 is some cool stuff to use. Very thin viscosity and fast cure times.
