I tried a few new things for habitat work and also making rocks. I think I have improved from what I was doing. Got some good info from others on the site and I really appreciate it. Anyway, here is what I came up with . Let me know what you think.

Bobcats are not finished but you get the idea.

I did all my dirt work Using a Bondo / fiberglass resin mixtures to make it poorable and put peetmoss down and let it kick to get my base layer for the dirt. Then I sprayed down a coat of 3m Spray adhesive and pressed the fir needles and dry dirt down and then vacummed the loose stuff off and then used the aircompressor and blew any excess loose stuff off. Not sure if that spray glue is the way to go or not. Seems to hold fine. Any other options for putting the fur needles down?

Mix the needles in a mix of white glue and water.

Looks good. You gotta check reference though. Your moss etc. wouldn't gross in those places/surface areas. Moss, lichen etc. grows in the darker areas and out of direct sunlight.

If you were in Washington state youd understand, moss grows everywhere here. My Roof has moss on it and there are no trees around LOL. Kind of sucks living in a state where you rarely see the sun and have rain all the time, Its been over 300 days since we have seen 80 degree weather LMAO!!

   On a more seriouse note, I will go take some referance pictures out behind the house and go with that next time. Thank you for the input its much appreciated !!

actually it looks really good. i think what bothers me is the piece of lichen on the top. just stands out and doesn't look natural.

Charlie is correct.  Moss and Lichen grow everywhere down here and pretty much on anything.  Nothing on his Base work stands out as odd to me.

I agree, i lived on the coast of WA. for 28 yrs. and the moss grows like weeds!

I used plywood fot the back, chicken wire to shape the rocks, burlap soaked soupy mix of plaster , then I made a rock mix cuncoction that is in Michael P's rock video.
