A snake is a snake. Individual species will present challenges.
There is a good rattlesnake tutorial on here.
You will need to carve a body as well.
Get Tom Voyers DVD and that will be a good start.

Tom does a 15' python in his large snake DVD that goes into great deal with skinning through mounting and finishing. It is quite involved, but the results are great. It is available at http://www.kastaway.com/store/store_product_detail.cfm?Product_ID=193&Category_ID=1&Sub_Category_ID=12

I agree on the Voyer DVD, But "A snake is a snake" I don't. Constrictors are a lot harder to do than rattlers.
