James it's been addressed before but why do you post your private tutorial LINK to  "our" public ones. Personally I think it's a bit tacky at best and a bit ostentatious at worst. If you feel a compelling desire to share your knowledge here, then be professional enough to C&P it here. You friends and fans must know where your personal blog is but some of us maintain an allegiance to THIS SITE.

It's called intellectual property George.  If I take the time to create a tutorial, I want to retain the rights to it.  So, I post them on my site where I have a copyright and complete control of my intellectual property.  By placing the tutorials that I put a lot of effort into on my personal site, others cannot profit from my intellectual property.  It is not that I have anything against Ken, WASCO, McKenzie, or this site.  Trust me, I've given them plenty of business over the years.  I still answer questions and offer advice on here.  I still post topics on here.  Do you now understand why I post my tutorials to my own website?

I share the tutorials here because I believe they are helpful.  Perhaps you should read my latest post about dealing with other taxidermists.  "When you feel like criticizing another taxidermist, encourage them instead. It will help them and you." This is a principle you could well afford to employ, Mr. Roof.  While I have the utmost respect for your contributions to this industry, encouragement has not been one of them.  If you prefer to not read my tutorials, then by all means don't.  If you do, even someone who has been around as long as you have might learn something.

We'll your reasoning still flies in the face of your explanation. I can't imagine any proprietary benefits from sharing common knowledge. Your name stays with a post and only you can change it (unless Ken decides to nuke it.) I've never been much into self-adulation and to post a private continuing link on this sits just seems that way.

As for that last bit of "advise", let me use a parable. I enjoy sharing a good meal with people I enjoy being around. If someone doesn't fit those parameters, then they don't get invited. I see no reason to temper my feelings toward them.

If have "taught" taxidermy my entire life short of 12 years. I have never ever charged a single penny for it. I've posted likely thousands of tips from my experience here and found nothing that threated my "ownership" of a single one of them.

Now here's a tip for you: when more than one person asks the same question.one should make an effort to rethink his rationale in defending it.

Hadn't seen this.  Ron, is 100% right.  James, if you want to keep so called "intellectual property" then you need to pay the piper for advertising.  This is wrong.

Many of us only read taxidermy articles on this site.  We do not respond much, if at all, in order to remain outside the "club".  That being said, I do not appreciate having to leave this page in order to view something that should be on this page.  Especially for something as simple as cleaning a brush.

Just for information...Anything posted for public view on a personal web site would offer no more protection for intellectual property than posting  on this web site. Copyright or no, if it's posted on any web site open to the public, the material becomes public domain. You would have to require a fee to access the info and an have an "I agree" button for the buyer to click which, among other things, would have the buyer acknowledge they are purchasing copyrighted information and in doing so agree not to copy, reproduce, etc. etc.
No one ever reads those lengthy agreements of course, but that's why they are ther. It is the only way to maintain the rights to intellectual material posted on the web.

Humm?!  Free advertising for just using this site?  Gotta agree with RDA on this one.  Could it be someone's trying to circumvent the system?  Why, by golly, there is a hand in that cookie jar!
