I thought I would take a few minutes and share my technique on dremeling my deer noses.

first I cut the nose off the manikin about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch past the nostril

then I dremel to the depth I want my septum

I come in from the back side to the opening I dremeled in the front

the lines show where I will make my cuts

this is what it looks like when the cuts are made and both sides are removed

I carve in my septum according to my reference

do the same with the nostril wing

this is what it looks like from the front after it is hot glued back in place

and from the back

hot glue back on the manikin and ur done

this technique gives me pretty good results for my commercial deer heads and it only takes about 5 mins to complete

Wow! You do all that for comercial deer, great job. Most customers are amazed enough to be able to see the septum, but you've gone above and beyond comercial work there!

Yeah, after seeing this, it's so simple but the effect is great! Do you put in a septum afterwards, like a plastic one? Or?

On my commercial heads I do not put a plastic septum in.

That is a great way to prepare a septum. I will definitely try it.
