Hello,
I was wondering what type of foam and density would be the best to use for making some 3d archery targets?
Thanks,
Matt

There are a number of people that will give varied opinions on this. For my money, an 8-12 pcf foam works very well. Innovative Polymers has a product called FM 110 that works well for this. I know because I've used it for just this reason. Send me a pm and I'll get you a little to play with.
My Best,
Scott

The material is 1-1 pbw and pbv. It's pretty easy to use, has a 45 second cream time and ready to handle in 5-10 minutes. I don't shoot it for at least 24 hours. If you shoot too early, you will have a bit of material come apart on your arrow. Otherwise, the stuff lasts a long time. My target at home hasn't been repatched in a couple years and shot into a ton by my kids. Heck, the target sat outside through our Michigan winter this past year and we shot it last night. The patch is looking a bit shady, but it sure works great! This foam is self-healing. You can shoot a long time before needing to fix.
Kit Weight $/Lb Kit Price Ratio
FM-110 1 Gallon 16 $7.09 $113.51 100:100
FM-110 5 Gallon 80 $5.90 $471.66
