OK been tanning my own hides for 13 years know went to set up my pickle, got a new gallon safety acid out made a 30gallon pickle like normal .it takes 90 oz acid 30lbs salt it should read 2.0 but it doesn't it reads 0.0 no mater how much acid i add. any help!!

90 ounces? Holy moly!! that would read zero! You have way to much acid in there.

90 oz  for a 30 gallon pickle would be the correct ratio if you were using Critric acid not Safety acid  Wink

yes 90 oz is what i always use and had no problem , but i got it fix thanks everybody for   there answers , here what happen my mom purchase bigger measuring cups and i did not know it until i went back over what i did  i add 20 oz to much , but 30 gallon pickle with safety acid takes 90 0z ,

30 gallons of water should only take 15 oz. of safety acid.  You are still using WAY to much.  Glad it's your money and not mine.  Good luck.
