...but 1 ounce = 1 ounce regardless WHAT size measuring cup you use!

1/2 oz to every one gallon is the correct ratio.

I don't know anything about tanning or pickling, but I do know if you have a PH of zero... adding more acid will not raise the PH.  Roll Eyes

Just in case nobody has said it yet,,, you use a 1/2 ounce of acid and a pound of salt to every gallon of water.
