Treating Cypress wood for bugs

First of all hello I am a newbie here and I am not a taxidermist. I had some ducks done about a year ago by a taxidermist and they were very cheap. He did an excellent job on the birds, but did not have the option of using driftwood unless I brought it in myself. He used some other kind of wood that I eventually found out had some kind of beetles in it that were hatching and eating holes all in the wood. I removed my mounts and threw the wood out and meede something else to mount the ducks on. I found a few large peices of an old cypress tree in a creek bed and brought them home. I pressure washed all the dirt and grime off and now it looks really good but I noticed some tiny bugs in the cracks. I am going to use on big peice for a three bird teal mount. How do I go about treating this wood to make sure I don't introduce any buds to my household? Thanks in advance

I use a big garbage bag and a heavy bug/ insect killer to spray the bag full and seal up for several days, then take wood out and let it air out, and you should be good.
