Hey all, I am just starting to try my hand at molding fish and have a few questions.
First. What is the easiest most economical casting base material that I can use clay, sand, fiber fill etc
second after my50/50 mixture dries and I reenforce with glass  do I have to gelcoat the inside.
and third Where do I find gelcoat and do I brush it on or do I have to buy a sprayer and spray it on?
Thanks for the help.

The terms you use make it very hard to understand what you are asking. I assume by casting material you mean bedding material? If that's the case I suppose sand would be the cheapest and Hi-fiber would be the easiest to use.

What 50/50 mixture are you referring to? What are you coating w/ Gelcoat?

You can use a brush to apply gelcoat.

I would suggest getting the Breakthrough series of articles written by Gary Bruch and reading them. They will shed some light on what it is you are trying to do.
