For any advice on painting would be very grateful.
You did a good job. One of the biggest problems that occur is that people try to paint blotches the way they see them instead of the way they exist. Each scale has it's own color pattern and you have to paint them as such. If you try to paint the bars on a fish by spraying your air brush and moving it up and down it's going to look like it. Not sure if you have access to rub on paints but these make a great tool for your arsenal. One of the hardest things to capture when doing replicas is the dirty look on reptiles. Good luck and I think the base color is looking good and the white isn't to bright but you have to get the detail colors back into the scales. If you have the carcass of the one you molded still take a look at his scales and you'll see what I am talking about. Good Luck. Dan

Thanks friends!
Next time water I will try to fill in with a transparent polyurethane.
Though dark water from epoxide pitches, not bad looks.
