anyone ever tried using it for a small water(puddle) scene. dont know if it would dry clear enough to use for this puropse so i thought id ask.

Use Envirotex for a small puddle. Fiberglass is way too yellow.

what do you think about using it to make wet dirt? i think that would work for like beaver scenes and such

It doesn't work very well for that either. The dirt will hold moisture, even when it appears dry. This will cause the resin to not set up properly.

If you want it to be clear, then buy some Polytranspar Artificial Water. It is purified fiberglass resin. It is a great product. I use it as a clear coat on camo skulls and as a super gloss on fish. Do not buy too much, it has a shelf life of 6 mos to 1 year, when it is properly stored.
