We are cutting the antlers off some breeder bucks and  I want to make a quick cast of the bases so I can re attach them to the antlers and mount them. They will only be sedated for a short period so I need to use something that will set in about 5 mins.  I will only have to get one pour from each mold. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Alginate maybe?  Thanks for your help.  Steve

If you do it right, you can roll the mold right back up the antler, cut the antler off and then roll the mold back down for pouring.
You could use DragonSkin and accelerate the cure with Accel-T.
You could use a 2 part called Equinox. This is a putty consistancy that provides a 40 shore A hardness mold. It mixes easy, you take a ball of part A and a like sized ball of part B, mix them together (much like epoxie sculpt). You have 90 seconds to form your mold. It seem like a short time, but it's ample time for the task. Then you can demold in 7 minutes. You may be able to demold faster depending on temp. I should say the mold is full cure and ready to use in 7 minutes. I think that I would use equinox for this application.

http://www.tfbplastics.com/msds-tech-sheets for the tech sheet and you can order from TFB also.
