I hope this question is not too stupid  Huh:
I know Sandhill Cranes are legal to hunt in several states in the US. I was wondering: do they make good eating? I assume they were added to the "shootable" list because they are edible, but are they actually tasty?

They call Sandhills "ribeye in the sky" for a reason! Yummy

Here's a pinfeathery mountain quail I shot the other evening when I was out for bandtails. The pigeons didn't cooperate.

And here's a couple honkers I got today. I got to the spot late, but still ended up with a double that came in nicely.

Things are slow going right now. I just haven't had the time to get serious yet. I hope to be able to get out and enjoy all the seasons to come. Keep posting those pictures. Its always a fun thread.
