Nice work. I'm surprised those manatees don't get speared every once in a while by accident or snatched because of the wake they put off on shallow water.

thanks guys aprreciate the comments hard to think about taking good pics once the killing starts..... Bubba your right there they leave a bubble trail just like a gator we stopped throwing on bubble trails in some areas just for that reason. luckily they dont seem to love the muddy water but if your near blue springs make sure you see the gaotr go down before you cast on those bubbles

I know I went hunting a few years ago with a guy in an area that I hadn't been before and well I would never admit to casting on one of them but I would bet you they would pull some drag until you figured out what was happening.

yeah stay away from them and dont cast any bubble trails you dont see a gaotr make even than you have to be prepared. i'v seen them come up where i've seen a monster gator just go down.nope wouldnt want to catch a manatee.

The old timers used to say it was like beef just with a good bit of fat in the meat and you had to cut a lot of fat off the carcass when you cut them up but I'm pretty sure nobody is stupid enough to mess with them nowadays .

nope and those old timers ate curlows also of course they are protected now. i heard most people wouldnt really like eating grass fed beef because of the taste difference between the grain fed that we eat everywhere.

I'm pretty sure I've eat curlews before and grass fed beef isn't worth a dang. I've eat plenty of gopher tortoises too when I was young but I'm not that hungry anymore. I didn't even hardly eat gators until my buddy made hamburger with one and now I do them all that way.

I have had gator twice.  Once I was in Shreveport, LA and had some and the other time was at a Cajun restaurant here in Illinois that Kathy Bloomquist recommended to me.  She told me they were looking for some good authentic Cajun food during the World Show and found Gambinos.  Well living in Illinois for dang near ever and never heard of the place before, I at least knew that Kathy knew what good food was so we had to try it.  Sure enough it was a fantastic family ran business and the food was great!  I have never had a gator burger before though?  Is it straight gator or is it mixed with something bubba?
