i tried searching on this topic but only found how to de-stink a tortoise when it's freshly found.
my tortoise (named 'fat albert' by the pervious owner) was mounted in the 1960s. and he stinks.
i have no idea why; i imagine everything that would rot away has done so in the past 40 years.
so i'm wondering how to make him smell better. it's kind of late to shove him in borax.

Seems if it was gonna stink it would of done it 40 years ago. lol Did something crawl into it and die (literally Cheesy )?

he seems pretty sealed up. maybe he needs a good bath and some sort of clear sealer? i don't know if that would damage him...
