Hey guys really cool site. i hope to learn a lot! Some very good information.

Anyways i just killed a gator and am having the head mounted and belly hide tanned. the processor gave me the back strap with scutes and said there was nothing that he could do with them. i would like to save them, with skin so it looks natural if possible? i have the hide frozen now, but what do i need to do with it now? salt brine? borax? never done this before so any tips would be appreciated.  i will keep reading other posts for ideas but thought i would throw is out there in the meantime. thanks for the help!
