"and then mount of sweat in the Frig roled up with the hair side out".............This is a Typo................should be or not of.........
You can mount right after the Neutralizer or (for better results) Brush on Liqua- Soft on the skin side...........Turn the cape to the hair side out and roll it with the nose and face first and place it in a plastic bag..............put it in the Refrigerator over night and Mount the next day(this will sweat the oil into the skin better)...........You can just brush on a coat of soft tan oil and mount right away too(depending on how pressed you are to get it done).........The oil will give you less shrinkage during the drying of your mount.
Even if I'm just doing one cape I will still mix a first batch for two capes(this will insure a good submerge)...........You can put in two capes if you have two to do or just put in one and add another later without adding any more KT.
I will use the KT mix one more time by adding 25% more KT(2oz) per cape(You do not need to add salt).............I do not re use it again.
The 8oz mix is a guide line to start but sometimes you can get really large capes that require more.............I can usually tell by the second day in the Tan if I need to add more or not.........
Theologically you can reuse it over and over if you keep It clean and your salt density and add more KT but I don't because its not worth chancing it.............
The longer you leave it in the better but it usually takes 3 -4 days to penetrate the skin.............You can leave it for 2 days...............take it out and shave it thin then return it over night and that should do it............
I have left Deer capes in the KT for as long as Two years with out adding any chemicals and the deer mounts as though it had been only 3 or 4 days..........I never worry about My capes when they are in the KT after the third day.............

hey tom, when you said you left it for 2 years, did you still move the cap around everyday ?
i just let the cape float, but never went pass two week and turnig it everyday.
