dying changes everything

I got the horns off and the skull is in with the bugs,  now how should I clean the inside of them.  they look pretty clean from what I can see.

I soak them in warm water and dawn, and use a bottle brush to scrub the inside. You will want to reattach as soon as the skull is clean because the horns tend to shrink.
