Does anyone happen to have an address for the Van Ingen taxidermists in Mysore, India? I'm living in India for the next 6 months, and I'd like to pay the site a visit, if possible.  I was told that the studio was closed down around 15 years ago, and that it lies vacant.  I'd still like to see it, nonetheless.

Thanks for your help!

After briefly researching my collection of Van Ingen materials, I could find no physical address of the now defunct studios other than Mysore being in southern India. However, I can promise you that if you email Dr. Pat Morris (p.morris5@btinternet.com) who in my opinion is the world's leading authority of the Van Ingen establishment, he will get you to within a stones throw of the building. PLEASE take some photos to post here in the History section of taxi.net once you get there. How I wish I was there before they closed the doors forevermore.
Have fun!

I believe that Dr Morris may have been the one who did a seminar at the world show on the Van Ingen shop (tigers specifically). His photo's did show that it was pretty well gone. There are some buildings standing but there were being reclaimed by the land pretty quickly. Interesting story and history. I believe he has written a few books about it as well that you may want to pick up.
