preserving large pine cones

I looked in old forum it sent me here was wondering how to preserve large pine cones, trying to keep them from falling apart .

all ive ever done is spray them down with a 50-50 elmers glue spray, as long as your not roughing around with them that should hold them together and seal them well enough for what you need
