Hello Im new to this site. Im looking for a taxidermist in the Kansas City area that i can spend some time around the shop and help out , a apprenticeship. Im have not mounted anything, wanting to see the enviroment and see if its something i would like to do. Im young and a avid hunter, with not much money. I live south of Kansas city 60 miles. Any input would be great. Thanks Tommy.

Try CIndy Cunningham of Second Creation Taxidermy.  She is in the KC area near Cabelas.  Your can find her number on the Kansas Association of Taxidermists website.  It is www.ksassociationtaxidermy.com  Look under members list or officers page.  Also has websites under members page.  She has schools for taxidermy.

I have never been, I am self taught and taught by my father.  She is an excellent teacher from what I hear and I know she is a great taxidermist beacuse she competes every year in our state competition and does quite well.

I learned fish and birds from Cindy. SHe is a master taxidermist who runs a professional shop. She is also an awesome person and has become a very good friend. She has gone above and beyond what I ever paid her to teach me and I would recommend her to anyone.
