Never used one.
Carve the tongue out of foam, rebuild the rest with bondo/resin and apoxie.
I would think that the insert would just glue in, trim and blend with apoxie, then paint.

I hate to say it but the rubber ones seem to be a waste of money because of the variations from gator to gator. You can have 5 ten foot gators in a row and not one of them will have the same size head. It is always best to mold and cast your own for the best results but if you do what Ron said it is acceptable, looks good, easy to do and your customer will still love it. I will carve the inner mouth detail out of the foam and then roll out a thin layer of apoxie sculpt to cover it. Blend it in texture it and let it dry and come back and paint it. Easy to do. I like using press molds when I can to texture the mouths. Dan
