WOW!! The taxidermist who did this must have been on some pretty strong medicine. Who in their right mind would alter the nose area like that. Also, why are they using jet black when finishing? I really hope that this was just a joke to get a rise out of some people, beause I just cannot imagine someone ever thinking that they are on the right track when doing such weird things when mounting.

My very first mount looks way better than that five year old one!  I have a really old mount that looks similar to your old one.  I'm going to leave it be.  Don't know the history behind it, or how old it actually is.  I'd rather not mess with it hearing that arsenic was used in older mounts!

i got his twin in last week. another guy trying to save money. found enough nails to add on to the shop . no hide paste, cuts were nailed together used a can of bondo for the ears and had not cleaned the skull plate. this customer has learned that cheap is not always good

Mounts like this irritate me.  Maybe I'm nuts, but the customer and the animal deserve more respect.  But it also falls along the lines of you get what you pay for too.  Quality mounts take a lot of time.  It's only a hobby of mine, but I don't think I could send a mount out looking like that.
