I have used this method for years. I found a guy that sands down wood floors and gym floors to apply new coating. He gave me some 20 inch round flat sanding disks that are used on a buffer. They throw away lots of them on every job.
They have holes in them so they dont get plugged up.Just take scissors and cut pieces to the size you need , make them a little bigger than the ear. After combing the ear well, place one piece on front side of ear and one on back.Staple together with regular paper stapler. They hold your ear tips well and allow for air to penetrate.leave on for about a week and remove them.Nice pretty ear on lots of different animals. You can also find this stuff in smaller pieces at the hardware store in the sandpaper section. This can be reused over and over again.

I use plastic hardware cloth--the kind used for sewing patterns--and milk carton cardboard, the kind that is waxed paper, not plastic.  These work great.
