So, I've been gifted a dead pet chinchilla and would love to know if there's anything special I have to worry about with tanning and mounting.
I know that while living chinchillas should not get wet. Is it ok if they get wet when they're dead? Is a basic Formic acid pickle ok?  Can I do an immersion tan?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I tanned one a few months ago and used safety acid, formic is very harse so be careful but will have the same results. The skin was very thin and fragile like a muskrat and I used lutan F and it was great. good luck
