Georgia: Good Taxidermist who can tan?
«

Hey Y'all,
I have an otter I want tanned, but I am very picky with who I trust doing a good tanning job. I don't want someone who sends it away to get tanned, but rather someone who does it personally.
Any input is appreciated.

Youre asking a loaded question my friend. You have tanneries, and you have taxidermists. You can find taxidermists who can tan, but its a working tan for taxidermy. I am assuming youre looking for a finished tan for your otter. Taxidermists who tan dont usually do garment tan, or dressing, the really soft tan I am again assuming youre after. Go to your taxidermist, one you trust, and ask him what tanner he uses for this specialized type of tanning. No matter what you do, youll need to trust someone at some point. Unless you wanna hop in your vehicle and deliver it, Carolina Fur Dressing is a few hours from you near Raleigh.

Most of the good taxidermists I've net stick yo "taxidermy" for fur bearers and send them out to other professionals at "tanneries". Bill just plays nicer than I do
