i have a family member who wants to tan a deer he shot this year. he is wanting me to do it, but i do not own a tumbler. should i just have him take it to a real taxidermist, or should i go ahead and do it? i use McKenzie rub on tan and McKenzie safety acid.

You do not need a tumbler for a deer hide, you can achieve a supple soft stretchy hide, just by hand breaking if done correctly.
