I have been a professional taxidermist for 5 years now and I think I'm doing very well. I used a commercial tannery for the first 4 years but found the didn't give me the quality or service that I was looking for. This year I have decided to do all of my own tanning and I have great success on all of my wet tans but I'm having some quality issues with my dry tanning. I dry tan my small mammals such as fox and raccoons. The problem I'm having is that when the dry out after a few days they get stiff. I pickle them in saftee acid then tan them and then apply McKenzie leather oil. Any tips on how to get them soft like a commercial tannery. Thanks.   Chuck
