A tip on blue dawn....never squirt it directly on the skull. I use a hose cut-off instead of a spray nozzel on my hot water hose. I can get pressure immediately to rinse off a skull in case I accidently get the blue stuff on the bone and the cut-off is easier filling thanks than a hand held spray. less foam.
Why never put it directly on the skull? I've rubbed dawn all over skulls for years and then put the skull in warm water or sometimes even straight ammonia and never had any problems other than probably wasting too much ammonia.
Too many have had blue stains from blue dawn and no longer use it. I have accidently sqirted some on bone before and had a heck of a time getting it off. I always make sure the detergent is disolved and have not had any issues since.
