You know, the more that I set back and think about it I think that Michael P is spot on.  The whole deal is "typical" taxidermy.  That is a "typical" shop with "typical" taxidermists in it with a "typical" clientele base.  Believe me when I say this because I am not trying to put myself upon a pedestal BUT, THANK THE LORD THE BUSINESS THAT I RUN AND THE PEOPLE I HAVE IN IT ALONG WITH MY CLIENTS MUST NOT BE "TYPICAL"!!!!!!!!!  I'm not knocking those guys either.  They are probably doing the best that they can do with the people that they have to work with and the clientele that they have.  I wish them luck and hope that they prosper.  It is just too made up for me and my liking though......

the show  should have got one of the "top end" quality taxidermy shops that have enough respect for their customers to do it right.
That would be a show for all to watch!!!!!!!

I saw it for the first time last night. I was really disappointed. I could care less that his work looked o be way below average. What pissed me off is that we as hunters and taxidermists already have to fight the steriotype that we are all inbred toothless retards, and the animal rights people thrive on this.

People that don't have a clue about us ( which is 80% of the population) See this crap and think that's what hunters and taxidermists are. It just helps sway more would be neutral people to the anti side.

Do you notice how they always pan the camera around to junk piles and half rotten skulls, the focus is more on the lifestyle of those people in that area than it is taxidermy. Mounted in Alaska was a much more accurate representation of a normal regular Taxidermy shop.

Just my opinion.

Everyone can judge all they want, the show has exactly the type of taxidermist that the producers wanted, and has exactly the right amount of drama to meet the direction the show wants to take.  It is entertainment.  I don't think it is half bad either.  I seriously doubt they give a damn about pleasing the taxidermy crowd.
