I got my MFA in Fine Art a few months ago and much of my graduate work centered around drawn articulations of the holes in the back of a particular deer skull I picked up a few years ago while hunting quail in Texas. I also included the skull in an installation piece in my final thesis project. Moving forward, I wish to make a reusable mold of the skull, complete with antlers, from which I could cast replicas in such materials as lead, bronze, and plaster. I am a complete novice in casting, and wanted to know the best place to get started and any pertinent resources. Any information you have would be greatly appreciated.

Personally I like this step-by-step.. yes it is of a human skull but the idea is still valid for any skull and how to approach it:
