when it comes to mink,martens,muskrat etc. what do you like to use for the ears? Bondo,epoxy, some form of a ear liner??

 I like to use a good quality ear liner. I like Jan Van Hoesen's and the Actual Ears, they are expensive compared to others but make a good foundation for a crisp ear. These have the inner ear detail cast in them. I take my dremel and remove this detail from the liner, sand the edges thin and remove the cartilage from the ear skin.  

 The best advice with small mammal ears using an ear liner is to set them on the head in the right location. Here is a tutorial I did setting these ear liners.

    I agree with you when it comes to fox,yotes etc. but for small stuff like mink they don't have ear liners.I did see that tutorial and it has a lot of great info to set the ears correct way.

Bill is right, I used to get a pretty decent ear without them, but now that I have used them for a few years, big difference! On my mink, squirrels and such, I shape some critter clay and  slide them in with alittle hide paste. Then you can shape and you get a really nice full, but soft looking ears on the little guys!
