finished raccoon hide, very stiff, how can i make it softer?

I used Lutan-F tanning and WASCO Soft oil. I stretched out the limbs and the sides which are nice and soft, but the head and middle dried before I could stretch and break the fibers. would I have to re-hydrate it to re-do the drying and breaking process without ruining the tan and oil, or would I have to tan it again? can I wet it a little in the middle to stretch it out? any suggestions of what I should do?

Just sponge some water on it, bag it and let if sweat soft, then break it again as it is drying. You can add more softening oil again, it wouldn't hurt. Break it several times, once is not enough.
