Ok was just wondering who would you recommend to do a replica fish mount? I'm going on a fishing trip to Lake Falcon in May and naturally i'm hoping to catch my biggest Largemouth ever   i know there are a lot of people who do this stuff but i'm wanting to get someone that is above average as i've never had a fish mounted and will be hard pressed to get another in the forseable future.  Thanks for any help anyone can give   please give contact info if possible   Thanks

Shop around there as good one here and there are a lot of good fishheads that never come on here nor do they compete.

If the fishing is so guaranteed that you feel it's time to shop for a taxidermist, why bother getting it mounted? Get a real trophy mounted- like one you worked for and didn't buy, no matter what the size. If you just want a nice fish to get mounted, there are much prettier fish than a LMB- lol! To answer your question though, I'm the best- I can make you a better LMB than anyone alive- I'm just feeling confident- that might change once you actually catch a fish ha ha

Depends on how much you are really willing to spend on an "above average fish mount" I feel that there are a multitude of great fish taxidermists out there and you need to make some calls and go look at their work and decide for yourself. I believe that I can do a pretty darn good LMB but I also believe that I can do better with each one I do. I'd do some homework of your own and then decide who you want to take it too. Good luck with catching that monster.

Despite the fact that this response was tongue and cheek, Dave is a fantastic bass taxidermist and would be a great choice for ya.

Remember take you camera and take a lot of pics of the fish. Your choice of taxidermist can use them.

Though part of your post is confusing to me (...never had a fish mounted.) it sounds like you want a replica MADE. That said, I recommend you open up the active fish forum post "This month in fish pictures...New Years edition" and scroll down to the largemouth bass replicas posted by DanB. Many of us (including me) consider him to be THE BEST at doing largemouth bass replicas and seeing is believing. Good luck.

Fish often, leave the barbs on, keep some to eat or mount, and apologize to no one.

LOLOLOLOL.

Dave!!!!!  I laughed sooooo hard reading that!  Your awesome man!!!!

Like Cole said, while you were clearly joking, you would be an outstanding choice....plus you always paint those cool backdrops for your fish too.... LOL.

Search on here, and you will find many talented fish guys, especially for bass.  The leaderboard for LMB would have to be DanB by a longshot.  Hes a freak of nature.  .

But there are many others. .... Kenneth Bauman has won "best in world" with a lmb, Randy B has done really well, Cole even got a 2nd or 3rd ribbon at the world show with a LMB.....

Many talented individuals on here, with many different painting styles.

Good LUCK!

It looks like Lake Falcon is in South TX.  Ron Kelly is a superb replica taxidermist located in TX.  His work is really outstanding, though I do have to agree on the DanB statements above.  His LMBs are smoking.  I absolutely love them.
