I picked up this buck Monday afternoon and thawed it for 2 days in the shop before prepping. It still had the hide on and garbage bag tied up under the antlers. It was obviously a cool buck. When I started untying the bag I saw the devil points...even cooler I thought. After I trimmed the gums off I was even more surprised when I found the canines. I haven't had a double canine deer in 3 years. I have had 3 with single canine this year and usually only dinks in the past. I took this deer out of the beetles yesterday afternoon and it has been degreasing less than 24 hours. I had to dry it to get a few pictures before back in the degreasing tank.

My son killed his second deer this year so I thought I would surprise him with a euro mount of it, he is 12. When got it out of the beetles I noticed it had canine teeth. I was interested in why and read alot about why. This is one of the more informative articles I read. was interested

Thanks for the link! As rare as it is I have a good friend that has taken a buck with a single canine two years in a row. Boths bucks are dinks but what are the odds on that one? To narrow it down they were both taken in the same area.

That's a really nice buck, I've love to have a complete skull with double canines.

Domestic horses occasionally get them too, on the bottom
