My husband has been building custom fly rods as a hobby, and is now looking to offer his services to those who may be interested in having a custom rod built. He can make virtually any size or type.. please check out his website at:  http://www.rocflyrods.com

He has made many beautiful rods for friends and family, as well as donated several to auctions for a good cause. He wants to get some good customer reviews for his website, therefore he said for the first few customers, he would be willing to build a rod for an extremely good price. Please visit his website or email him at: robby@rocflyrods.com  with any questions

She listed his email to contact him that would probably be your best bet to get a price.....I tried. Fly fishing this year on my bear hunt after I tagged out, it was a blast, almost as exciting catching those little trout with a fly rod as killing my bear. I may have to have one built , after cheching out your husbands site you sure can tell he has a lot of passion for it and I think that would be so much cooler to buy one of his than just going to a sporting goods store and buying one off the shelf...hope he has a lot of success in his new business..

I haven't Fly Fished since i left Wyoming. Not a lot of places around Joplin Mo to Fly fish or at least I don't know of any! and if ya go to one of the trout parks your lined up next to each other and i hate that! but a custom Rod is great for sure. Hope he has success in his new venture!

I asked him and he said the prices are very much dependent on what type of material you want the rod made out of, and what size (since fly rods come in various lengths). It's the kind of thing that isn't easy to just make a price sheet for. If interested, simply email him with specifics on what type of rod you are looking for (or give him some basic information, and he can help you decide what would be best for you)
