Had i guy call last week that had a whitetail that he wanted skull mounted.first 2 things i ask is does it have a tag?and is it rotten?well he had a tag for it, but it was rotten!so i gave him the price for a fresh skull compared to a rotton one...he wasn't happy with paying a extra $20 for the rotton skull.he was quick to say he was just going to take it some where else!i laughed as i got off the phone and told the wife good luck to him as for finding somebody else to do it!i do all the taxidermy's euro work in the area.he calls me back this morning and says are you going to be around today i would like to drop my whitetail off for you to do!love these kind of days!

don't make no difference to me if its fresh or rotten. I don't charge to skin it, fresh gets skinned, eyes, tongue and brain out and in the bugs. if its rotten, I drop it skin and all into the maceration tank. 7 days later its clean. the guys around me were charging a gag fee. but not since loosing a lot of business to me since I don't. I hate it for them since all my competition boils there skulls. got to hate being there when its hit the hot water.

I never used to charge a gag fee. I HATE MAGGOTS! I got tied of guys not taking care of their trophies. Time to teach a few by getting in their pocket!
If the head is dried out....no problem. Maggots falling and crawling...15.00 please.

Maggots actually don't bother me, I get a lot of them in the summer when I have my buckets out in the backyard

I wonder what would happen if you took a maggot filled head and put it in with the beetles? Who would be the dominant eaters? LOL
