With the recent spread of CWD in many states, some states are looking at regulating how used salt from taxidermy/tannery's is disposed of. Apparently an area with no known CWD suddenly developed some, with the nearest case being several hundred miles away...our Department of Enviormental Conservsation in NY told us when this case was investigated it was discovered that a local taxidermist had spread his old salt on his property to control weeds, it is suspected that local deer then licked the salt on the ground and contracted the disease.
Be careful and responsible with what your throwing out into the enviorment. Careless disposal of tanning supplies can contaminate your water supply or your neighbors and bring not only more law suits/ regulations/zoning issues but poor perceptions from the public on the industry. Bob

Bob, thats very interesting. I wouldnt have thought about CWD! Thankfully here in KY we have remained free of this, but my bioligist friend says its just a matter of time. I have done my part this year by taking the time to save brain and skulls for him tho check.
Thank You for the heads up on that one.
