The kid wants to trap a skunk & mount it... How do I kill it so it don't stink ... Shoot it with a .22 from a long distance or what other options do I got to work with???

Use a Have-a-Heart trap or simular.
Once you have the skunk in the trap, walk up to it slowly with an old sheet
or large rag. Large enough so when held up in front of you the skunk can'nt
see you and cover the whole trap.
Now you can pick up the trap and transport him to a pond, creek, or deep
pool of water and submerg the whole deal in it. Come back in 20 minutes.
 No damage, no stinky.
